Summer Camp - China

Join us in China!
Dates: 3 weeks in July

Cost:$700-900 (plus Airfare)
Apply By: April 11

We're sending a team to China to serve a leadership camp for Chinese young adults. One of our seasoned staff was a counselor for a similar camp last summer and will lead this year's trip.

Last year, the camps made a deep impression on all in attendance. Students were challenged to live for a vision bigger than themselves. Countless Chinese heard the gospel! Some took that final step of committing their lives to Christ.

As we participate in the camp, we will be able to talk with them about some of the most important aspects of life such as relationships, character, serving others and our own deeply felt beliefs.

This summer we have the opportunity to bless Chinese youth and thereby bless China for years to come.

Application process: Request an application & reference forms by phone or email YWAM Madison China Desk 608-255-0500 xt. 314 ywam@ywammadison.org.
April 11th application deadline.

"AIDeS in Africa"

Durban, South Africa
June 13 - July 3, 2008
Cost:
$3500 (this includes airfare which is approximately $2,100, food, housing, ground transport, some supplies, entrance to sightseeing events, i.e. gamepark, Table Mountain)

The objective of this outreach is to talk about AIDS and act on what we say, by visiting the sick, bringing hope to the hopeless and awareness to the community about AIDS.

We will work with Good News Ministries in Ntusuma, a township of 500,000 Zulu, formerly a squatter's camp of which 47% are infected with HIV.

Week One:  Orientation in Cape Town, SA.  Fly into Capetown, see Capetown, visit YWAM work there, recover from jetlag and have orientation/team building. After 3-4 days relocate to Durban.

Week Two and Three - We will serve "Ukukhanya Life Care Centre," a joint ministry of New Jerusalem Missions from Kansas, and Good News Ministries of Ntuzuma, SA. They are in the process obtaining land to start a hospice and feeding program for orphans.

Activities will include:

   * Home visits to those with AIDS
   * Scouting the need and order of establishing things
   * Prayer walking/sessions seeking God
   * Bids and cost analysis for the project
   * Some physical work to set up the property and secure it
   * Possibly interviewing orphans for the program

This is really a pioneering phase of the work - we are familiar with the need, the people, and the purpose, and as the director, Penny, relocates to Durban in April we will have a better understanding of what is needed.
