Bible School for the Nations
The Bible School for the Nations will...
1. Give you a chronological overview of the Bible
2. Give you tools to study and interpret the Bible rightly
3. Give you a Biblical worldview
4. Train you to communicate what is learned in a relevant and cross-cultural way.
Mobilizing Bible Trainers The purpose of the Bible School for the Nations is to mobilize Bible trainers who are growing in their ability to effectively disciple nations. The BSN assists participants to expand their understanding of the Bible as well as their ability to teach it and apply it to all of life. The school seeks to cultivate people of godly character who are deepening in their love for God, and who understand His character and how He brings about His purposes in history. The course additionally provides an understanding of the biblical basis for YWAM's Foundational Values.
Old & New Testament The Bible School for the Nations is an inspiring journey through the Old and New Testaments. In the course of study, participants learn about the Kingdom of God, His nature and character, His purposes in history and His interaction with people. Students examine the vital message of the Gospel and the Christian Life, while discovering practical principles of leadership, civil government and economics. Understanding these universal principles is essential to partner with God to bring transformation and liberty to nations.
Chronological and Interactive Bible School for the Nations uses a chronological approach to study through the Scriptures in order to see God’s hand and eternal purposes in history. With an emphasis on application, students learn interactively how to study and understand the Bible in the context of its history, culture and grammar. Skills are developed to approach difficult passages and to compile a topical resource. Opportunities are also provided for the participants to become more creative and effective communicators.
Outreach The two-month outreach phase helps students grow in their team building and leadership skills, as well as gain practical experience in conducting a Bible seminar in a cross-cultural setting. The outreach will take Bible training to those who would not otherwise receive it. The BSN outreach teams work alongside YWAM’s BELT (Biblical Education & Leadership Training) ministry. BELT conducts courses for community and church leaders with limited access to biblical training, frequently partnering with Wycliffe Bible Translators to train indigenous leaders after the translation of New Testaments.
Long-term vision/Multiplication The Bible School for the Nations is part of an overall strategy to see YWAMers trained and mobilized to disciple communities and nations. BSN not only partners with BELT, but also with the School of the Bible, which provides an in-depth study of the material introduced in the Bible School for the Nations. Together, the desire is to see ministries begun in all the regions of the world needy of Biblical training.
