Planet Outreach is a series of workshops and seminars that are designed to equip Discipleship Training School students, secondary school students, and YWAM staff with the skills and confidence they need for a successful outreach.
Planet Outreach is a traveling team of staff from YWAM Madison who want to use the gifts and skills they've developed in our Bible schools to help YWAMmers in this region. The seminars and workshops cover a wide range of skills that are essential for an effective outreach.
These skills include cross-cultural communication, creative (and not intimidating) evangelism, how to prepare and teach a Biblical message, and how to share a testimony. Also covered are worldviews or ideas for urban or western outreaches.
The seminars or workshops are designed to complement a DTS curriculum and are customizable to be the best fit for your base or school. The Planet Outreach team could offer evenings-only workshops, or could even coordinate the outreach prep week.
Workshops:
- Tongue-tied: Your outreach can make a lasting impact on peoples' lives even if your students don't speak the local language. Students will learn creative ways to overcome common cultural and language barriers.
- Teaching: Public speaking is often a large part of outreach, but many students are intimidated to speak in front of people. Students will gain confidence as they learn how to construct a message, give their testimony, lead conversation groups, and more.
- Evangelism: Sharing one's faith can be daunting -- but it doesn't need to be! Students will learn what the gospel message is and how to express it in natural, practical, and relevant ways. They will practice starting conversations and learn how to build relationships during the outreach and also at home.
- Urban: Urban and Western outreach locations have their own challenges. Students will learn the predominant worldview in the cities they will reach, and be inspired with creative ideas for reaching people in an urban or post-modern setting.
